Hi, my name is John and I want to welcome you and thank you for visiting my webpage jpvcreditpros.com. I designed this page to help you with your credit journey. Here, I’ll share tips, processes, and programs I used to raise my score from a low 530 to over 800 in about 18 months. I’m no guru or financial wizard. I’m just an average guy who found and followed the principles of making good financial decisions. If you follow the same path, you’ll also find yourself with an above 800 credit score.
Up to and including this year of 2024, I’ve been on the credit-watching and increasing journey for more than 10 years. By this, I mean that I’ve been watching my spending, charging, and saving to help my score grow. I want to be upfront and clear about this one thing. If you don’t pay attention to your financial standing and how you spend money, you’ll never get out of debt and you’ll never have a credit score over 800. I’ll share with you exactly what I had to do and how it helped me propel my credit score immensely.
I know what it’s like to be in financial trouble. To have creditors calling and being sent to collections because of possibly a bad situation or just being financially irresponsible. I know what it’s like to be denied loans or jobs or anything that requires having a good credit score. Whatever your situation is, what I’m going to share with you will change everything. I believe in this so much that I can make you this promise. If you follow the processes and do the work necessary, you too will find yourself not only with a high credit score, but you’ll also have some breathing room when it comes to your finances.
I first learned how having bad credit affects your life when I was 21 years old. I was a college dropout and decided to join the United States Marine Corps to get more funding to continue my college education. I was on a football scholarship and decided that I no longer wanted to play football. Well, without the scholarship, I couldn’t afford college.
Shortly after joining the Corps, the war in the Middle East began; Desert Storm. I served in the war and when I returned home, I had a few bucks saved. For a 21-year-old from a lower middle-class family, having 5 thousand dollars in the bank was very exciting. I had never seen that much money. The first thing I did was go and buy a used motorcycle for $2600. Man, it was great!
Shortly after that purchase, I received a threatening letter. It said that I owed $2500 for unpaid student loans and that I would be sent to collections if not paid by a certain time. Now, at that time, I didn’t know what “being sent to collections”, meant. I’m a young US Marine without any financial education so I thought the worst. I thought this could derail my goals or much worse, get me in some serious trouble with my command. So, I did what I thought was best. I paid the $2500. Whew! What a load off my back.
About 3 weeks later, can you guess what happened? Yup, another letter. Only this time, it said that I owed another $2500 and that the debt was already sent to collections. My heart sunk in my chest. Not only did I not know what to do, I still didn’t know what being sent to collections meant. I’m out of money so I can’t pay these people. Even if I could pay them, how many more of these letters will I receive in the next few weeks? Who are these people? This collection debt on my credit report would go on to haunt me for the next 7 years. It was terrible!
Well, if you haven’t already guessed, this was the beginning of my hard-Knox education in finance and credit. To compound matters, I would go on to make many other mistakes with my finances until one day I had enough. I was so exhausted and over the phone calls from people claiming that I owed them money that I made a decision. I’m clearing up this mess and I will never be in this situation again. It was time for the hard work to begin.
I could go into further details of my situation but it would take writing a book. Believe me, my story got worse before it got better. I hope my short story above inspires you to take charge of your finances. I also hope you have decided to make the necessary changes and to do the work needed to change your situation.
Again, my goal with this webpage is to help you along your credit journey. I want to provide you with some strategies, processes, and programs that can assist you along the way. I used some of the tools recommended here and can vouch for their usefulness. I want you to learn, as I did, to be proud of having a high credit score knowing that whenever the time comes for you to apply for that loan or credit line or job, in the back of your mind, you know that being approved is no longer a worry. Why? Because your credit score is above 800. There’s only one way to get there. Have a plan, practice discipline, and be determined to take control of your financial future.
Thank you again for allowing me to be part of your financial journey.
Thank you for visiting jpvcreditpros.com
